This is a repeat of the January one around Garston which Des has been asked to repeat. If you look in articles the one on Garston has got a couple of www links would you might like to look at before you go. It is incredibly easy to get to. Arriva buses 80, 80a, 82, 86a, 166, & 188 though not the 82a. Hatton buses 167 Stagecoach buses 82 & 86 though not the 86c. Approximately 7 trains now are from Lime Street by multiple companies. Merseyrail from Ormskirk via Central and Moorfields every 15 minutes.

We have quite a distinguished speaker lined up. He is travelling up from Hertfordshire so please pass the word to make it worth his while with big audience. Tickets £4, please at the door.

A talk by Sue Latimer the former Heritage Interpreter and Researcher for the Southport Heritage Project. You may have seen the signs, particularly on hoardings, around Southport the lost couple years. She's now working as a freelancer. They should be an interesting one it sounds as it she's putting a lot of work into it. If you know people from the Southport area, who might be interested please invite them. Tickets £4, please pay at the door.

Margie is scheduled to be the walk leader.

A discussion on the future of the group will be the main topic of the meeting. The idea is to spread the load and at the same time make the scope of the meetings broader and appeal to interests of more of the members. We're looking for ideas and people to pursue them. If 10 people plan 1 meeting each they can get a speaker they would like to hear, share something themselves or just have a go at something new!

This is a cut and paste of the letter David said after the March meeting. 'May I say how much I enjoyed Friday morning - a delightful group and it was a pleasure to speak to you all again...... I would be more than happy to write a special "Liverpool Lives 2" talk just for your group - I have checked out some names and I have enough for another talk.' A talk specially for us deserves a big audience please.

Tickets £4, please at the door. John Maguire is currently writing a book on the subject. Which I didn't know when I asked him, after the meeting in January, if he knew of of anyone who could do a talk on Samhain. No prizes for guessing who l asked to do the talk.

Given the success of the 2025 quiz (thanks Louise) one of the winning team has agreed to set the questions this year. Thanks Ros!

There has been some discussion, amongst the walk leaders, about what to do as it is New Year's Day. It's a subject they intend to return to. It is unlikely to be the agreed date. There is also likely to be further discussion about whether a drier alternative should be found.
